The Difference Between Grapes & Wine

In his book about Shawam (People of Sham: Syria & Lebanon), Professor Adil Abu Shanab tells the story of an Arab Sheikh who got into a discussion with one of the French Occupation Officers during the French occupation of Syria.

The French Officer invited some Syrian dignitaries to a dinner. One of the invitees was an old Sheikh with his white beard. When the French officer saw the old Sheikh eating with his fingers, he asked the old Sheikh:

"Why are you not eating like us?". At which the Sheik replied:

"Do you see me eating with my nose?"

The French officer replied: "I mean, why don't you use a fork and knife?"

The Sheikh replied" "I am sure of the cleanliness of my hand, but are you sure of the cleanliness of your fork and knife?"

This shut the French officer up, but he made up his mind to get vengeance on the old Sheikh. At the fiest, the wife of the French officer was sitting to his right, and daughter to his left. The French officer, to spite the man of God, asked for wine to be brought, and proceeded to pour for himself, his wife and daughter, and proceeded do drink in a way to annoy the Sheikh.

He asked him: "Listen O Sheikh, you like grapes, and eat them, don't you?" At which the Sheikh replied in the affirmative. The French officer continued talking, pointing towards the grapes, hoping to beat the old Sheikh:
"This drink is from these grapes, so why do you eat the grapes, but keep far from the wine?"

All the guests looked at the old Sheikh, (feeling that he would have no reply for this).

The Sheikh, calmly replied: "This is your Wife, and this, your Daughter, is from her. So how is it that your Wife is legitimate for you but your Daughter is not?"

It is said that the French officer immediately ordered for the wine to be removed from the table.

May Allah guide us all and give us the wisdom not only to discern right from wrong but also to follow the right path after having identified it and then keeping on traveling in that same direction till the last day
.

Oh Allah! I almost sold you for a quarter!

Several years ago, an Imam from out-of-state accepted a call to a
Mosque in Houston, Texas .
Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter in excess change.
As he considered what to do, he thought to himself,
'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be
wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it,
it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it.
Accept it as a 'gift from ALLAH' and keep quiet.'
When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me a quarter in excess change '
The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the
new Imam in town?'
'Yes' he replied.
'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you excess change.
I'll see you at the mosque.'
When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said,
'Oh ALLAH, I almost sold you for a quarter.'Our lives are the only Quran some people will ever read. This is a real example of how much people watch us as Muslims, and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry your IMAAN on your shoulders when you call yourself a
'Muslim.'

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

These are the employees working in oil company in Saudi Arabia daily they have to work 4-5 hours in water inside sea during that if there is salah(namaz) time they pray in the water itself.

It is said that when the angel of death is taking the rooh (soul) out of the body whom passes away....
it is a painful experience.

They say that when the dead awake
on Qayaamat, the effect of the rooh
being taken out will still be there.

Therefore, ALLAH has told us to
recite the Ayatul-Kursi after every Farz salaat and it is stated that whoever recites this, their rooh will be taken out as you would takeout a strand of hair from a pile of flour. How light would that feel, Masha Allah!

May Allah save us from any sort of pain and may He let us die with Imaan in
our hearts and save us from the azaab. Aameen..

There is no word as beautiful as Allah.
No example as beautiful as Rasulallah (SAW).
No lesson as beautiful as Islam
No song as melodious as Azan.
No charity as meaningful as Zakat.
No encyclopaedia as perfect as Al-Quran.
No prayer as perfect as Namaz.
No diet as perfect as fasting.
No journey as perfect as Hajj.

Let's realize that Islam is forever beautiful and perfect, please forward this message to get the sawaab of passing on knowledge.

Once Moosa (AS) asked Allah Ta'ala: O Allah ! You have granted me the honor
and privilege of talking to you directly, Have you given this privilege to
any otherperson? Allah Ta'ala replied, O!! Moosa during the last period I am
going to send an ummat, who will be the Ummat of Mohammed (SAW) with dry
lips, parched tongues, emaciated body with eyes sunken deep into their
sockets, with livers dry and stomachs suffering the pangs of hunger- will
call out to me (in dua) they will be much closer to me than you O Moosa!
while you speak to me there are 70000 veils between you and me but at the
time of iftaar there will not be a single veil between me and the fasting
Ummati of Mohammed (SAW) O!! Moosa I have taken upon myself the
responsibility that at the time of iftaar I will never refuse the dua of a
fasting person!

Sub'hanallah!!

A BEAUTIFUL STORY ABOUT QURAN....

Why do we read Quran, even if we can't understand
a single Arabic word????
This is a beautiful story.

An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky
with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting
at the kitchen table reading his Quran.
His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried
to imitate him in every way he could.

One day the grandson asked, 'Grandpa! I try to read the Quran just like you
but I don't understand it, and what I do understand
I forget as soon as I close the book.
What good does reading the Qur'an do?'

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied,
Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water.'

The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out
before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said,
You'll have to move a little faster next time,' and sent him back to the river
with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster,
but again the basket was empty before he returned home.
Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible
to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.

The old man said, 'I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water.
You're just not trying hard enough,'
and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show
his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water
would leak out before he got back to the house.
The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard,
but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty.
Out of breath, he said, 'See Grandpa, it's useless!'

'So you think it is useless?' The old man said,
'Look at the basket.' The boy looked at the basket and
for the first time realized that the basket was different.
It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and
was now clean, inside and out.

'Son, that's what happens when you read the Qur'an.
You might not understand or remember everything,
but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out.
That is the work of Allah in our lives.'

Real beautiful story

This is great, take a moment to read it,
it will make our day.
The ending will surprise you Take Qur-an:

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art.
They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael.
They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.
When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war.
He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier.
The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.
About a month later, just before eedil -kareem,
there was a knock at the door.
A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.
He said, "Sir, you don't know me,
but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life.
He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to
safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly.
He often talked about you,and your love for art."
The young man held out this package.
"I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist,
but I think your son would have wanted you to have this."
The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son,
painted by the young man.
He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the
personality of his son in the painting.
The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears.
He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture.
"Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me.
It's a gift."
The father hung the portrait over his mantle.
Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the
portrait of his son before he showed them
any of the other great works he had collected.
The man died a few months later.
There was to be a great auction of his
paintings Many influential people gathered,
excited over seeing the great
paintings and having an opportunity to purchase
one for their collection.
On the platform sat the painting of the son.
The auctioneer pounded his gavel.
"We will start the bidding with this picture of the son.
Who will bid for this picture?"
There was silence.
Then a voice in the back of the room shouted,
"We want to see the famous paintings! Skip this one."
But the auctioneer persisted.
"Will somebody bid for this painting.
Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?"

Another voice angrily.
"We didn't come to see this painting.
We came to see the Van Goghs,the Rembrandts.
Get on with the real bids!"

But still the auctioneer continued.
"The son! The son!

Who'll take the son?"
Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room.
It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son.
"I'll give $10 for the painting.
" Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

"We have $10, who will bid $20?" 
"Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters.."
"$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?"
The crowd was becoming angry.
They didn't want the picture of the son.
They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.
The auctioneer pounded the gavel.
"Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!"

A man sitting on the second row shouted,
"Now let's get on with the collection!"
The auctioneer laid down his gavel.
"I'm sorry, the auction is over."
"What about the paintings?"
"I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction,
I was told of a secret stipulation in the will.
I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time.
Only the painting of the son would be auctioned.
Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate,
including the paintings.
The man who took the son gets everything!"
Allah gave His Qur-an hundred of years ago to guide us.
Much like the auctioneer,
His message today is: "The Qur-an, the Qur-an, who'll take the
Qur-an?"
Because, you see, whoever takes the Qur-an gets everything.

That mention one thing is equal to another

i.e. men are equal to women.

Although this makes sense grammatically ,

the astonishing fact is that the number of times the word man appears in

the Holy Qur'an

is 24 and number of times the word woman appears is also 24 ,

therefore not only is this phrase correct in the grammatical sense but also true mathematically ,

I.e. 24 = 24.

and this Quran narrates the story of Pharaoh's drowning and ensures the
safety of his body after his death as to be a Sign to mankind. The Professor
couldn't believe his own ears and started to wonder: *

only a few decades ago and no one knew about it

*The Professor couldn't sleep that night till they brought him the Old
Testament where he read: 'the sea drowned Pharaoh and his army, no one else
was left alive' He was surprised that the Holy Book didn't mention
about the
destiny of the body and that it will be saved *

ولكن موريس لم يهنأ له قرار ولم يهدأ له بال

but Professor Maurice couldn't rest for a moment since he was told that
Muslims know about the safety of the body. So, he decided to travel and meet
anatomy Muslim scientists and there he spoke about his discovery of the
safety of the mummy after its death in the sea and so on. *

قوله تعالى : (فاليوم ننجيك ببدنك لتكون لمن
خلفك آية .. وإن كثيرا من الناس عن

لقد كان وقع الآية عليه شديدا .. ورجت له نفسه
رجة جعلته يقف أمام
الحضور ويصرخ بأعلى صوته : لقد دخلت الإسلام
وآمنت بهذا القرآن
رجع موريس بوكاي إلى فرنسا بغير الوجه الذى
ذهب به .. وهناك مكث عشر



*One of the Muslim scientists stood up and simply opened the Quran and
pointed to the Professor at one verse: *

who come after you! But verily, many among mankind are neglectful of Our
Signs'**

of the crowd and said loudly: 'I believe in Islam, I believe in Quran'

*In France, he dedicated 10 years investigating the scientific discoveries
and comparing them with the Quran and trying to come up with one scientific
contradiction with the Quran. Finally he quoted one verse from the
Quran to
be his conclusion: *



*'No falsehood can approach it (this book) from before or behind it: it is
sent down by One Full of Wisdom, Worthy of all praise' *

*I personally visited the Cairo Museum where the mummy is preserved and
there you get astonished at the scenery of thousands of people from all over
the world visiting the place everyday , unfortunately, many of the tourists
there would think: 'Woow, look at that! Amazing!! So nice to see people of
all times!! Without realizing the intended lesson that Allah has kept this
body a Sign to all
mankind of anyone who denies Allah and His messengers. *



*In another chapter in the Quran: *



*'When Moses came to them with Our clear Signs, they said: This is nothing
but sorcery faked up: never did we hear the like among our fathers of old! *



*Moses said: 'My Lord knows best who it is that comes with guidance from
Him
and whose end will be best in the Hereafter: certain it is that the
wrong-doers will not prosper. *



*'Pharaoh said: 'O Chiefs! No god do I know for you but myself:
therefore, O
Haman! Light me a (kiln to bake bricks) out of clay, and build me a lofty
palace, that I may mount up to the god of Moses: but as far as I am
concerned, I think (Moses) is a lair!' *



*And he was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason, - he and his
hosts: they thought they would not have to return to Us! *



*So We seized his and his hosts,
and We flung them into the sea: now behold
what was the end of those who did wrong! *



*And We made them (but) leaders inviting to the Fire; and on the Day of
Judgment no help shall they find. *



*In this world We made a curse to follow them: and on the Day of Judgment
they will be among the loathed (and despised).' *

**'Has not the time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all
humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and the Truth which has
been revealed to them, and that they should not become like those to whom
was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their
hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors. *



*Know you (all) that Allah gives life to the earth after its death! Already
have We shown the Signs plainly to you, that you may learn wisdom.

*For those who give in charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a Beatiful
Loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credits), and they shall have
(besides) a liberal reward. *



*And those who believe in Allah and His messengers- they are the Sincere
(lovers of Truth), and the Witnesses (who testify), in the eyes of their
Lord: they shall have their Reward and their Light. *



*But those who reject Allah and deny Our Signs,- they are the companions of
Hell-Fire **' *

3) Four things that dry the face & take away its happiness:

a) Lying
b) Being disrespectful / impudent (insisting on something wrong knowingly)
c) Arguing without adequate knowledge & Information.
d) Excessive immorality (doing something wrong without fear).

4) Four things that increase the wetness of face & its happiness:

a) Piety
b) Loyalty
c) Generosity (being kind)
d) To be helpful to others without he/she asking for that.

5) Four things that stop the Rizq (Sustenance) :

a) Sleeping in the morning (from Fajr to sunrise)
b) Not Performing Namaz or Ir-regular in Prayers
c) Laziness / Idleness
d) Treachery / Dishonesty

6) Four things that bring / increase the Rizq:

a) Staying up in the night for prayers.
b) Excessive Repentance
c) Regular Charity
d) Zikr (Remembrance of Allah / God)

The Holy Prophet (SAW), Also said to communicate to others even if you listen One Verse (Ayaah) & this one verse will stand on the Day of Judgment for intercession. .

The Holy Prophet (SAW) said, Stop doing everything during the Azaan, even reading the Quran, the person who talks during the Azaan will not be able to say the Kalima E Shahada on his/her death bed.....

Please pass this message to Muslims....

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed that

he was walking along the beach with Allah.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.

For each scene he noticed two sets of Footprints

in the sand: one belonging to him & the other to Allah.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,

He looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of his life

there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed

that it happened at the very lowest & saddest times

in his life…..This really bothered him & he questioned

Allah about it:

"Oh, Allah, you said that once I decided to follow you,

You would walk with me all the way. (In happiness & in sadness times). But I have noticed that during the most Trouble some times in my life, there is only one set of foot prints. I don't understand why…? When I needed you most, You would leave me alone….?

Allah heard the man & replied "My son, my precious child,

I love you...!! & I would never leave you alone....!!!

Bob: Tell me why is it that a Muslim is very particular about the words Halaal and Haraam; what do they mean?

Yunus: That which is permissible is termed Halaal and that which is not permissible is termed Haraam and it is the Quran which draws the distinction between the two.

Bob: Can you give me an example?

Yunus: Yes, Islam has prohibited blood of any type. You will agree that a chemical analysis of blood shows that it contains an abundance of uric acid, a chemical substance which can be injurious to human health.

Bob: You're right about the toxic nature of uric acid, in the human being it is excreted as a waste product and in fact we are told that 98%of the body's uric acid is extracted from the blood by the kidneys and removed through urination.

Yunus: Now I think that you'll appreciate the special prescribed method of animal slaughter in Islam.
Bob: What do you mean?

Yunus: You see, the wielder of the knife, whilst taking the name of the 'Almighty', makes an incision through the jugular veins, leaving all other veins and organs intact.

Bob: I see, this causes the death of the animal by a total loss of blood from the body, rather than an injury to any vital organ.

Yunus: Yes, were the organs, example the heart, the liver, or the brain crippled or damaged, the animal could die immediately and its blood would congeal in its veins and would eventually permeate the flesh. This implies that the animal flesh would be permeated and contaminated with uric acid and therefore very poisonous; only today did our dieticians realize such a thing.

Bob: Again, while on the topic of food; Why do Muslims condemn the eating of pork or ham or any foods related to pigs or swine?

Yunus: Actually, apart from the Quran prohibiting the consumption of pork, bacon (pig flesh); in fact the Bible too in Leviticus chapter 11, verse 8, regarding swine it says, "of their flesh (of the swine, another name for pig) shall you not eat, and of their carcass you shall not touch; they are unclean to you." Further, did you know that a pig cannot be slaughtered at the neck for it does not have a neck; that is according to its natural anatomy.
A Muslim reasons that if the pig was to be slaughtered and fit for human consumption the Creator would have provided it with a neck. Nonetheless, all that aside, I am sure you are well informed about the harmful effects of the consumption of pork, in any form, be it pork chops, ham, bacon.

Bob: The medical science finds that there is a risk for various diseases the pig is found to be a host for many parasites and potential diseases.

Yunus: Yes, even apart from that, as we talked about uric acid content in the blood, it is important to note that the pig 's biochemistry excretes only 2% of its total uric acid content, the remaining 98% remains as an integral part of the body.

Miracle of Azaan

*Amazing as it sounds, but fortunately, for the Muslims of the world, it is* an established fact.

Have a look at a map of the world

And you will find Indonesia on the eastern side of the earth. The major cities of Indonesia are Java, Sumatra, Borneo and Saibil. As soon as dawn breaks on the eastern side of Saibil, at approximately 5:30 am local time, Fajar Azaan begins.
Thousands of Muazzins in Indonesia begin reciting the Azaan. The process advances towards West Indonesia . One and a half hours after the Azaan has been completed in Saibil, it echoes in Jakarta ... Sumatra then follows suit and before this auspicious process of calling Azaan ends in Indonesia , it has already begun in Malaysia .

Burma is next in line, and within an hour of its beginning in Jakarta, it reaches Dacca, the capital city of Bangladesh . After Bangladesh , it has already prevailed in western India , from Calcutta to Srinagar . It then advances towards Bombay and the environment of entire India resounds with this proclamation. Srinagar and Sialkot (a north city in Pakistan ) have thesame timing for Azaan. The time difference between Sialkot , Quetta , and Karachi is forty minutes, and within this time, Fajar Aazaan is heard throughout Pakistan . Before it ends there, it has already begun in Afghanistan and Muscat .

The time difference between Muscat and Baghdad is one hour. Azaan resounds during this one hour in the environments of Hijaaz-e-Muqaddas (Holycities of Makkah and Madinah), Yemen , United Arab Emirates , Kuwait and Iraq .

The time difference between Baghdad and Alexandria in Egypt is again one
hour. Azaan continues to resound in Syria, Egypt, Somalia and Sudan during this hour. The time difference between eastern and western Turkey is one and a half hours, and during this Alexandria and Tripoli (capital of Libya ) are located at one hour's difference. The process of calling Azaan thus continues throughout the whole of Africa . Therefore, the proclamation of the Tawheed' and 'Risaalat' that had begun in Indonesia reaches the Eastern Shore of the Atlantic Ocean after nine and half hours.

Prior to the Aazaan reaching the shores of the Atlantic, the process of 'Zohar Azaan' has already started in east Indonesia , and before it reaches Dacca , Asr Azaan' has started. This has hardly reached Jakarta one and half hours later, the time of 'Maghrib' becomes due, and no sooner has 'Maghrib' time reached Sumatra , the time for calling 'Isha Aazaan' has commenced in Saibil! When the Muazzins of Indonesia are calling out ' Fajar Azaan ', the African Muazzins are calling the Azaan for Isha.

If we were to ponder over this phenomenon thoughtfully, we would conclude
the amazing fact that there is not even a single moment when hundreds of thousands of Muazzins around the world are not reciting the Azaan on the
surface of this earth. Subhaan Allah !!!

Even as you read this material right now, you can be sure there is Azaan
somewhere !!!

'If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you.' If you are not ashamed, pass this message on...only if you believe.*

The prophet(SAWS) said : “I advise you to drink honey.”

Preparation:

Use a full table spoon of honey along with a glass of water (200ml).

Steer until the honey dissolves totally in the water before usage.

Benefits:

- Awaken the entire digestive system, from mouth to intestines.

- obtain a sufficient amount of energy required for the daily activities by supplying the body with salt, minerals and the vitamins.

- Mixes the order of the water molecules with that of the honey so the whole drink becomes beneficial. This method is used in the modern treatments named “treatment with water” (or hydropathy) where the water is enriched with the needed substance that the body needs.

Dates and Milk

Preparation:

Soak 7 dates into a glass of milk. To be taken around noon.

The prophet(SAWS) said: “ whomever starts his day with seven pressed dates will not suffer any poison or magic”.

The Prophet (SAWS) said: “use olive oil in your food and for massage for it’s from a blessed tree”

Lunch:

A piece of bread made of barley, a table spoon of olive oil and few drops of apple vinegar.

Benefits:

- Olive oil resists fat in the body.

- Olive oil prevents from skin cancer and bone cancer.

- Olive oil dissolves cholesterol.

- A daily spoon of Olive oil can treat the problem of fatty liver.

- Olive oil can treat and prevent from arteriosclerosis and weakness of memory.

Benefits of Olive oil with vinegar:

Olive oil helps in the increase of beneficial fat (high in density), and decrease the proportion of harmful fat (low in density), which reside on the wall of arteries, causing intransigence.

Vinegar helps the body get rid of the harmful fats by turning it into a beneficial element that is used in internal generation of body power.

The Prophet (SAWS) said:

“ God bless vinegar for it was part of prophets diet.”

Dinner:

The Prophet (SAWS) said:

” whomever skips the dinner meal his body weakens.”

The dinner meal should contain a piece of bread made of barley and a glass of milk.

The dinner helps the large intestines fermenting food and benefiting from some of its vitamins that results from the process of fermenting. Like a vitamin that prevents the body from bleeding.

Medical benefits in prophetic diets

Introduction:

Dates can be served with breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, and snacks, any day and every day. It can be classified as food, drink, fruit, sweet, nutrient and medicine. An Arabi phrase indicates the significant value of fresh dates, which says:

“Awwaluha Lil Amir, Wa Akhiruha Lil Hamir”. ‘The first of the crop is for the ruler, and the last of the crop is for the donkey.’

Rasulullah (S) has compared a good Muslim to the date palm tree and said: "Among trees, there is a tree like a Muslim. Its leaves do not fall."

Dates in the Primary Sacred Literature:

Dates and date palms have been mentioned in the Qur’an some 20 times, indicating their significance, by looking at a few life experiences of Rasulullah (S).

1. Abdullah Ibn Jafar said:

o “Rasulullah (S) ate Qiththaa (cucumbers) with Dates.” (Cucumber has a cold effect and dates have a hot one. By combining the two it becomes mild. From this Hadith we gather that it is recommended that the effect of hot or cold- of things eaten should be taken into consideration. Cucumber is insipid and tasteless, and dates are sweet which results in the cucumber also tasting sweet).

o “Rasulullah (S) ate watermelon with fresh dates.”

o Rasulullah (S) also said:

“The cold effect of one removes the heat of the other, and the heat of one removes the cold effect of the other”. [1]

Anas said:

“I saw Rasulullah (S) eat together musk-melon and dates.” (Some Ulama have translated this also as watermelon’ instead of musk-melon, the reason being as in the first narration, here also the cold effect is intended. But it is clear that musk-melon is meant here. The reason for eating dates is also that it gives the melon a sweeter taste. It is not necessary that one’s benefit be gauged everywhere. It is possible that this is due to some other benefits. The eating of watermelon with dates has its own benefit and that is to create evenness in the effect of both, so that it becomes mild. The eating of musk-melon with dates has its own benefit and that is that if the melon is insipid and tasteless, sugar is mixed before it is eaten. Therefore it is not necessary to give the same reasons for both watermelon and musk-melon).

Rubayyi bint Muawwidh said:

“My uncle Muaaz ibn Afraa sent me a plate of fresh dates, mixed with small cucumbers, to be presented to Rasulullah (S). As He relished cucumbers, I took this to him. At that time some jewelry had been sent to Rasulullah (S) from Bahrain . He took a handful from it and gave it to me.” (Besides the previously mentioned benefits of cucumbers and Dates, it also makes the body thickset too.

It is related in a weak Hadith that Rasulullah (S) ate cucumber with salt. It is possible that he at times ate it with salt and at times with dates. Sometimes one prefers something that is sweet and at other times a thing that is salty.

4. One of the wives of the Nabi said:

o “Rasulullah (S) ate watermelon with fresh dates.”

5. When the Ansari saw Rasulullah (S) and his two Ash’aab, he delightfully exclaimed: Alhamdulillah, no one has more honorable guests today than I (have). He then went out and brought them a bunch of ripe dates, some dry dates and fresh dates, and offered: Eat some of them. He then took hold of his long knife (for slaughtering a goat or a sheep). Rasulullah (S) said to him: Beware of killing a milking animal. He slaughtered a sheep for them and they ate of it and of the bunch of dates. When they had taken their fill and had been fully satisfied, Rasulullah (S.) said:

Wallah! You will certainly be questioned about this bounty on the Day of Qiyamat. Hunger brought you out of your house and you did not return until this bounty came to you. [2]

6. Rasulullah (S) came to visit me, accompanied by Ali who was convalescing. We had some ripe dates hung up. Rasulullah (S) got up and began to eat from them. Ali also got up to eat, but was stopped by Rasulullah (S) who said Ali: Stop, Ali, you are convalescing. She said: I then prepared some barley and beer-root and brought it to Rasulullah (S) who then said: Take some of this, Ali, for it will be more beneficial for you. [3]

7. One of the wives of Rasulullah (S) said that my mother intended to make me fat so as to send me to the (house of) Rasulullah (S). But nothing came of it till she gave me cucumber with fresh dates to eat. Then I became chunky and curvy (as she desired).

8. Rasulullah (S) said:

“A family which has dates will not be hungry” [4]

9. “The people who reaped their new crop of Dates, used to come and present it to Rasulullah (S). He then recited this Doa:

O Allah! Bless us in our fruits. Bless us in our city. Bless us in our Saa, and bless us in our Mudd (these are two measures used in Madinah to measure dates. O Allah! Verily Ibrahim is Your servant, friend and Nabi since it was an occasion for humbleness Rasulullah(S) did not mention here his being the Habib - beloved - of Allah.) And (whatever) he has supplicated to You for (colonizing) Makkah. Which is mentioned in the Ayat, “...so incline some hearts of men that they may yearn towards them, and provide Thou them with fruits in order that they may be thankful.” [5] I offer the same Doa to You for Madinah.’ He then called a small child, to whom he gave that fruit.”

The best food for Ift’ar:

Rasulullah (S) used to say:

· “Iftaar your Sawm by eating dates as it is purifying.”

· “The date that is from high (branches) is a cure”. [6]

During the month of Ramazan, every nook and corner of the Muslim world are filled with varieties of dates. The reason is that it is the basic food of Ift’ar. Rasulullah (S) instructed emphatically, "If any one of you is with Sawm, let him do Ift’ar with dates. In case he does not have them, then with water. Verily water is a purifier." Rasulullah (S) used to do Ift’ar by eating dates and if ripe dates were not available, he would substitute them with dried ones. When even these were not available, he used to have a few sips of water, according to some accounts. Dates contain sugar, fat, and proteins, as well as important vitamins. The attachment of the Muslims with dates is due to the recommendation of the Qur’an and the instruction of Saheb al Qur’an. As dates move faster to the liver and are converted more quickly than any other nutrients, particularly if they are moist, the liver accepts their contents more readily and hastens their distribution to the rest of the body, which is thirsting for energy. Without any doubt, Dates are the perfect food for Ift’ar, as they quickly supply the body with the energy it needs. Dates are also rich in natural fibers and the eating of them helps to fight many of the ailments with which we commonly suffer today. Dates also surpass other fruits in the sheer variety of their constituents. They are the most wholesome food among fruits because of their hot and moist substance. Rasulullah (S) used to eat all varieties of dates, but he had a special liking for the Ajwah. Many who do Ift’ar with dates afterwards don’t feel much desire for more. It seems that taking dates after Sawm helps one avoid overeating. Rasulullah (S) would sometimes combine dates with bread. At other times he mixed ripe dates with cucumbers, or mixed the dates with butter.

Medicinal Benefits of the Dates:

1. The great worth of dates is also indicated in the Qur’an:

“And shake towards you the trunk of the palm tree, it will drop on you fresh ripe dates", so eat and drink and be comforted”. [7]

According to Medical studies, the ripe date contains a substance that urges uterine spasms and increases contractions especially in the time of delivery. This substance resembles ‘oxytocin’ that is secreted by the interior lobe of pituitary gland, which encourages contractions of the uterus. Dates contain some stimulants which strengthen the muscles of the uterus in the last months of pregnancy. This helps the dilation of the uterus at the time of delivery and reduces post-natal bleeding. This was the sacred prescription, for the mother of Essa Nabi at the time of delivery, to make the delivery trouble-free and easy.

2. It enhances the manhood; remove the weakness, if taken with milk, before sleep.

3. Dieticians consider Dates the best food for breast-feeding mothers, as Dates contain elements that assist in alleviating depression and enrich the breast milk with the nutrients needed to make the child healthy and resistant to disease.

4. Another factor making dates the ideal food is their digestibility. Within half an hour of eating them, the tired body regains new vigor. The reason for this is that low blood sugar is the main cause of hunger, not an empty stomach as is often assumed.

5. When the body absorbs the nutritional essence of a few dates the sensation of hunger is abated.

6. Eating dates in the morning on an empty stomach kills intestinal worms and other parasites, as dates have an antidotal potency which restrains their growth.

7. Dates contain calcium, sulphur, iron, potassium, phosphorus, manganese, copper, magnesium, volatile oils, Vitamin-B6, folic acid, Potassium, Magnesium, proteins, sugars and vitamins and are rich in natural fibers.

8. Magnesium is a very important element for to the pregnant women and is hard to find as a natural source.

9. We shall recommend that they try dates for the new born for the relief of pain. It is important for the functioning of the heart, as well as blood circulation.[8]

10. Placing a sugary substance inside the mouth of a new-born baby is not only a Sunnat but it also radically reduces pain sensation and heart rate. An interesting scientific medical study proved beyond any doubt the benefit of giving a new-born child sugar, in order to reduce the feeling of any painful procedure like heel pricking for a blood sample, or before circumcision. [9] Abu Buradah reported from Abu Musa, who said: I had a new-born baby; I took him to Rasulullah (S), who named him Ibrahim. He chewed a date then he took it and rubbed the inside of the baby’s mouth with it.

11. The date contains a very high percentage of sugar (70-80%); it has both fructose and glucose which have high calorific values, it is easily and quickly digestible, and very helpful to the brain.

12. The date contains 2.2% protein, vitamin A, vitamins B1, B2 and nicotruic acid (against Pellagra) it has traces of minerals needed for the body.

13. Potassium, of which the percentage is very high, has been found to be very effective for cases of bleeding, such as the occasions of birth or circumcision.

14. Dates are recommended for removal of dizziness. It is now well known that low blood sugar and low blood pressure are among the causes of dizziness.

15. When the level of trace elements in the body falls, the health of the blood vessels is affected, which leads to increased heart rate and a consequent inability of the heart to perform its functions with normal efficiency?

16. As dates are rich in calcium, they contribute to healthy bones. For this reason it is recommended that children and older adults, especially women, eat plenty of dates to strengthen their bones.

17. Dates are also important in maintaining good vision and are effective in guarding against night-blindness.

18. It is highly recommended for those who have any kind of hearing problem. It is a sacred medicine to treat respiratory disorder, as well as a salve and a heart stimulant. In the early years of Islam, dates were served as food for Muslim soldiers. Being the best stimulant of the muscles, it is a good tonic for one about to engage in battle.

19. Dates are also rich in natural fibers.

20. Modern medicine has shown that Dates are effective in preventing abdominal cancer.

21. In short words, one date satisfies the minimum requirements of a balanced and healthy diet.

It is our firm and staunch believe that further research will open new vista of understanding for those who still doubt the full Hikmah of the Talim of the Qur’an and Sunnah. For this class, Qur’an says:

“We shall show them our signs on the furthest horizons and within themselves, until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is witness over all things? [10]

Selected varieties out of uncounted range:

There are approximately 552 varieties of dates; the best dates are very rare, the orange-brown Dates are very transparent with a caramel taste.

· It is an Iraqi Date, from the oasis of Mandali, east of Baghdad . In Iraq , Dates are sometimes filled with clotted cream.”

· Nubut Saiyf, is a long date, shaped like a sword (Sayf), from the Riyadh region on the Najd plateau in central Arabia .

· Sukkari, meaning “sweet one,” from the Qasim region north of Riyadh .

· The rare and very expensive, Anbar or Anbara date from the Madinah region.

· And finally, the Khlas (quintessence), of Al Hasa. Besides “Khalal, Busr and Saraban are different variaties, from different parts of the Arabia . The most popular Dates of Hijaz include Khunaizi, Bukayyirah, Gharr, Shaishi and Ruzaiz, Sufri, Barhi, Sullaj and Khudhairi. People of Madinah mainly love Anbara, Ajwah, Rothanah, Baidh, Rabiah, Barhi, Hilwah, Hulayyah, Safawi, Shalabi, Khlas and consider them as “the perfection of the Date.”

Ajwah, the Gift of Jannat:

The word Ajwah is a noun from the verb Aja, which means to pacify an infant who is still being breastfed, but who is in the process of being weaned. “Al Dawau Bil Ajwah” is a very famous phrase in Arabia , which means treat diseases through Ajwah. It was a common practice among mothers in Arabia to use dates—especially the dry, chewy types, one of which is Ajwah—to wean their infants. They would let their babies chew on the date to pacify them, strengthen their gums and overcome their teething pains. Most likely, Ajwah got its name from this use, as it has the right texture and sweetness for the purpose.” Rasulullah (S) took all varieties of dates, but preferred the Ajwah. “Ajwah date, from Madinah, was the favourite of Rasulullah (S) because of its chewy texture and flavor”. Cured dates are called Ajwah in Arabi.

1. "Ajwah date is an excellent remedy".[11]

2. "Ajwah date is certainly an excellent and sufficient food."

3. "Ajwah is from Jannat and contains an antidote against poison" [12]

4. I suffered from an illness. Rasulullah (S) visited me. He put his hands between my nipples and I felt its coolness at my heart. He said: You are a man suffering from heart disease. Go to Al Haris Ibn Kaladah, brother of Saqif. He is an expert who gives medical treatment. He advised him to take seven Ajwah dates of Madinah and grind them with their kernels, and then put them into your mouth. [13]

5. Rasulullah (S) said: Ajwah dates of Aliyah contain healing effects, and act as antidotes in several ailments when taken early in the morning. [14]

Syrup of the Dates:

The syrup obtained from Dates is called “Dibs” which is similar to honey or molasses. It comes from dates when they have fully ripened and are then pressed. The Khunaizi Date from al Qatif Oasis produces excellent dibs. Dibs have a sweet, acidic flavour with a slightly bitter tinge. It is used in making or as a covering for sweets. Dibs is also as an ingredient in a popular fish recipe called Muhammar Ma Samak Maqli, meaning ‘brown or red rice with fried fish.’ In this dish, dibs is used to give the rice a brown color and a distinctive sweet and salty taste.” We sometimes use Habit al Barakah (“blessed seeds”) for a special flavor.”

Chocolate of the Jannat:

Is it not time for us to correct our wrong approach and forgo the habit of eating large varieties of Chocolate, which is an invitation to several ailments. It is time that not only we but our children should enjoy the benefits of this nutritious gift of Qudrat. Millions of Muslim across the world destroys their wealth as well as health through eating chocolate. In conclusion, we should try and eat this divine fruit throughout the year and not only in Ramazan.

Time of Breaking the Fast (Iftar)

Once Moosa (AS) asked Allah Ta'ala: O Allah ! You have granted me the honor and privilege of talking to you directly, Have you given this privilege to any otherperson? Allah Ta'ala replied, O!! Moosa during the last period I am going to send an ummat, who will be the Ummat of Mohammed (SAW) with dry lips, parched tongues, emaciated body with eyes sunken deep into their sockets, with livers dry and stomachs suffering the pangs of hunger- will call out to me (in dua) they will be much much closer to me than you O Moosa! while you speak to me there are 70000 veils between you and me but at the time of iftaar there will not be a single veil between me and the fasting Ummati of Mohammed (SAW) O!! Moosa I have taken upon myself the responsibility that at the time of iftaar I will never refuse the dua of a fasting person!

“Sadaqah” A Sacred Institution to Facilitate the Poor

This paper was prepared on the request of the Chairperson, “Council of Islamic Ideology Pakistan ” (Constitutional Institution of Pakistan ) a few years ago to answer the question: “How can an individual or an institution contribute to upgrade the quality of life of the less fortunate ones? With this discussion on the ‘Institution of Sadaqah’, an attempt has been made to re-establish an institution, to facilitate the poor class of the Ummah and improve their quality of life.

Philosophy of Sadaqah in Qur’an:

Sadaqah is the best act through which a person could achieve nearness of Allah and fight the forces of evil. The economic system of Islam provides us Talim that wealth should not be accumulated in the hands of one person, neither a wealthy, rich person should become a ‘Shaddad’, ‘Hamman’ and ‘Abu Lahab’ to cover his wealth like a snake. Similarly, the Trustees of Bait al M’aal should not utilize the fund undeservedly, which is similar to sucking the blood of the poor. Islam totally condemns it. Today the rich and wealthy of a society have become ferocious so as to suck the blood of the poor, but Islam is a religion of Justice, which never allows that a person may become a prey of another person. It provides assurance that all people are not equal, neither in ilm nor in wealth or power. One may be earning a lot, another less. One may be a hard worker, the other may not be so, yet another may be jobless, handicapped or crippled. Qur’an has defined the Ummah as a large family, which deserves and demands a close co-operation, mutual help and care, feeling of sacrifice among each other. Qur’an has given an assurance to this family (Ummah) for survival and bestows a golden principle:

“Help and co-operate among each other in goodness and virtue”. [12]

Strong Rrecommendations of Sadaqah:

Rasulullah (S) guides the Ummah regarding Sadaqah and Inf’aq several times, and encourages them through so many Ahadith. Sadaqah is the famous institution of charity. This is an institution through which one can spend in the name of Allah, for the cause of Allah. It is the ‘identity card’ to achieve nearness of Allah. It is the name of carrying good deeds. It is the way to fulfill the needs of the deserving class. Qur’an says:

“Say: “Verily my Lord increases the Rizaq-substance for whomsoever He wills of His servants, and restricts it (for whomsoever He wills) and He repays whatsoever you spend. He is the best of all providers”. [13]

One assurance has been given in Qur’an, which is not found in any other Scriptures:

“Those who spend their money (by giving Sadaqah, Khair’at to deserving) openly or quietly in the day and at night, their reward is with their Lord the Cherisher, they will not face any danger nor face sorrow or grief”. [14]

Commentators of the Qur’an are unanimous on the Nuzul of the above Ayat that it came down in praise of Ali to glorify his Sadaqah of four Darahim in the way of Allah—one by night, one by day, one secretly and one openly.

Let us take an example from some standard level. Today, while man has become materialistic, he first secures his selfish interest. He will not do anything without any interest. But the best assurance for secure profits is given in the following Ayat of the Qur’an:

“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is as the likeness of a grain, which grows seven ears, in every ear a hundred grains and verily, Allah gives manifold to whomever He wills, and Allah is omniscient, knowing”. [15]

Now pay attention and think over it, what a divine message Qur’an conveys to believers. Those who make a name in misery, whose hearts are narrow and tied up just like a handcuffed chain; they are away from the sense of kindness. Qur’an has mentioned such people in such a strong manner that the entire body shivers on its warnings. Directions have been given as follows:

“Listen! You people are invited to spend your money in the way of Allah, but some among you are miser. In fact they are doing misery with themselves; (i.e. not sharing part in Sadaq’at and Khair’at made them deprived of Barak’at and Naimat); while Allah is self sufficient and you are needy. If you turn back, He will bring other people in your place (the Naimat you have should be transferred to other) who will not be like you”. [16]

After this, again there is a warning of a horrible punishment as follows:

“No one will be thrown in it but the miser, who deny the truth and turns his back”. [17]

Strong tone and clear wordings of the above Ay’at is enough of a warning to the miser. Numerous Ahadith carry Talim and explain the significance of Sadaqah. Qur’an and Ahadith repeatedly and forcefully informed and insisted upon those in the Ummah, who have been rewarded with bounty, not to spend their wealth as an Isr’af, or for glorification among people. Instead they must spend it on deserving, needy people, who keep their problems hidden, due to self-respect. Many people go to bed without food. In winter, due to shortage of clothes, they face cold winds, and suffer various diseases without medicines.

Evils of Society:

One should keep in mind that class discrimination and poverty are two different things. In each society, class discrimination problems survive. Guidance of Islam regarding the removal of differences among classes is that the poor class must have the necessities of the life, according to the need of the time. Class discrimination is tyranny, which is the outcome of the three evils. Rasulullah (S) has declared Jih’ad against them. In ‘Ghazwah Badar’, these ‘Three Evils’ were present, and also represented individually. First was the Ruler, Abu Jahl; the second was the Capitalist power of Quraish and third was the Cleric, Abi Lahab. These three forces are still present today in different faces and dresses. The influential partner of this ‘Troika’ is Ulama al Su (the Clerics). They are the most dangerous than the two others, as they cheat in the name of Allah and His Rasul. It is their profession, everywhere. ‘Ulama al Su’ does not offer constructive guidance to the Ummah, but misleads them and when less fortune class discusses their problems with them they explain them as it is their destiny. For them nothing in this world, they will get reward in Akhirat. Neither Qur’an nor Rasulullah (S) provides this Talim. If people come out of the Net of the Ulama al Su, they would be able to spend better lives. People of all classes should avoid financial support to the clergy in the name of religion, and donate to welfare and charitable projects from which needy people can be helped. An Urdu poet had discussed Ulama al Su, and rightly explained in his poetry as follows:

“Geo Mulla Dharakey Sey; Duniya Margaee Faqey Sey”

O Crooked clerics! Enjoy the life, you are free of worries, (as your perpetual source of income is ‘Bait al M’aal’ of public, including non broken chain of donations under numerous heads); while masses have multiple problems, the poor go to sleep witout food.

“Tu Kh’aa Mazey Sey Halwey M’andey; Tujh Ku Kiya Hey A’atey Sey” [18]

You enjoy feast everyday; have you ever considered how difficult it is for less-fortune to earn a living?

Chance to Heal Those Broken Promises

The life of a human being is given its character, its personality, its tone by the almost continuous changes that the human being undergoes. A series of physical and spiritual changes transform man from a child to an adolescent, from an adolescent to an adult and from an adult to an elderly person. The physical changes that occur in this process are usually fairly easy to trace. The story becomes interesting, however, when we begin to analyze the spiritual changes that are brewing within this aging mind.

Islam places spirituality at the core of its doctrine. It works from the fundamental law that a human being is both a physical and spiritual being, that he has both a body and a soul. Further, Islam argues that the body is simply a vehicle for the soul, until the two are separated when the human being dies physically. The only difference between being alive and being dead is that while we are alive, our soul has command of our body and can direct it toward performing certain deeds, whilst after death, the soul loses control of the body, and is left with only the bliss of reward for its good deeds, or with the piercing pain of regret for its wastefulness and sin.

Chance to Heal Those Broken Promises

The holy month of Ramadhan is on its way once more. Lucky are those who will be there when it arrives. Looking back at the last Ramadhan, I remember the plans, promises and changes I intended to make which did not go exactly as planned. More sadly, I remember that I knew of people that were alive then, but this year they are gone! Who would have thought that they would not be able to get 'one' more Ramadhan?

Some of us take it for granted. We tend to only think of it when an incident as such takes place, and once we get through Ramadhan; the reality of life just happens to slip through our minds. Those who do not forget and keep a record of their promises will surely be the winners.

Fasting: Spiritual food for our souls

Since the holy month is a door step away, we can prepare our own 'to be' and 'to do' lists from today. We can mend those broken promises.

Every job has its rewards, incentives and recognition. Islam is no different-for every good dead is multiplied by seventy times. In the holy month of Ramadhan, we have tremendous incentives given to us: mercy, forgiveness and endless opportunities to gain reward.

The holy month of Ramadhan is one of the best months of the year, in which Allah Almighty grants us the opportunity to cleanse our hearts and feed our thirsty souls with something that is everlasting: piety.

Fasting: Frees your imprisoned soul

Fasting is one recipe that frees our souls from temptations and from every prison we unintentionally invent around our souls. At one point, our Dua's tap the doors of the sky hoping they would be answered. Joy is for those whose calls are answered by Allah Almighty in which he says: I hear you my servant, I hear you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told us: "Three supplications will not be rejected (by Allah) the supplication of the parent for his child, the supplication of the one who is fasting, and the supplication of the traveler.

Quick Things to keep in mind

The month of Ramadhan is an invitation from Allah to boost our faith; do not turn it away
Protect yourself from yourself
The fruit of fasting is piety; our way to Paradise
Do not overload yourself with big plans
Do one good thing at a time, and add items as you go
Let it be the month in which you start the new 'you'

"Sadaqah" A Sacred Institution to Facilitate the Poor

This paper was prepared on the request of the Chairperson, "Council of Islamic Ideology Pakistan" (Constitutional Institution of Pakistan) a few years ago to answer the question: "How can an individual or an institution contribute to upgrade the quality of life of the less fortunate ones? With this discussion on the `Institution of Sadaqah', an attempt has been made to re-establish an institution, to facilitate the poor class of the Ummah and improve their quality of life.

Introduction: Today, the Muslim society is a victim of many social evils, due to a lack of awareness of religious education. Narrow mindedness is the result of this attitude, because education of Islam opens many windows. Educated upper class considers Shariah as an out-dated code of life. Ignorance of the Science of Islam is the core reason for the mutilation of the faith. This situation allows people to accept the influence of their surroundings, which later on become part of their faith. Today Muslims follow customs and rituals more punctually and strictly while forgetting the original teachings of Shariah. Due to this negative attitude, no discrimination between right and wrong exists for them, and the benedictions of the institution of Sadaqah seem to have lost their importance. This divine gift, which was conferred through the institution of Wahi, for the elevation of the less-fortunate class of the society, has become a forgotten chapter. In Southeast Asia, Muslims practiced Sadaqah in the same manner as the Hindu ritual of "D'an & Darakshna". The Hindus believed that something should be donated to the priest-class and in return hoped that ones misfortune or difficulty will be removed. Unfortunately, our people at large treat charitable institutions of Islam in the same manner, as it is explained in the "Hindu Mythology". Plunderers of the faith—the so-called clergy, are largely responsible for undermining the real spirit of this institution. They exploit the masses and lead them to serve their own interests. It is a pity that the people have forgotten this institution of their own welfare, and are being exploited by the clerics in the name of religion. These clerics try their best to snatch valuables in the name of Allah. "It is worth-mentioning what people do to `drive away their misfortunes' :

· To avoid misfortunes and troubles, people would put the head of a goat, on the corner of a street.

· To cure an illness and other needs, people feed pieces of meat to kites and crows.

· To fulfill hopes and good wishes, a lemon punctured with a clove inside is thrown on the street.

· To protect a baby from evil-eye, an egg is waved around the head and thrown outside.

· `Ulama al Su', to satisfy their selfish desires ask for different costly items, such as gold, silver, Musk, Aud-Aloes wood, Saffron, and other valuables, other then money, according to the status of the needy person in the name of Sadaqah & Khair'aat".[1]

Misinterpretation of Sadaqah: It is necessary to examine the root causes of misinterpretation of the term "Sadaqah" by our people. People influenced by their surroundings donate Sadaqah just to remove their problems. It becomes a habit, which has turned into their faith. On the other side, the clergy pursue a luxurious life style. They indulge in money-minting and non-constructive activities. Instead of a scientific research, in the studies of Qur'an and Islam and welfare of the community, they love to spend time in profligacy. Today, people treat the item donated in the name of Sadaqah with a social stigma as something meant for the poorest of the poor. No one would like to even touch it, as people think that the Af'aat of the person attached to it on whose name it is donated may come upon them. The cultured class is also unaware about the spirit of Sadaqah. One giving the Sadaqah tries to give it away as early as possible, as it is believed that it is not good to carry the same, and is considered a bad omen. The innocent people are amazed when advised them to carry Sadaqah till any deserving person available. They fear if they carry it with them perhaps face any kind of trouble. The reason for such superstitious beliefs is only due to lack of correct information from the right source. There is no reference in the Fiqah-literature that the receiver of Sadaqah will face any harm or problem, as is wrongly believed. Such beliefs are the result of the ignorance of the people about the divine philosophy. The charlatans and the perfidious clergy have misled the masses away from the truth. People have forgotten the original Talim and remain busy in absurd customs and rituals taught by the clerics. Traditions and rituals have no concern with the religion, but unfortunately they are treated as part of religion.

Definition of Sadaqah: Those who divide Islam, politics and economics in three different categories, can not find the solutions of the financial crises of the Ummah. The shortsighted clergy can not help in building a welfare society, which Islam has ordained. Social and economic crises of the Ummah can be solved if people practice according to the advice of Qur'an. Presently, it is only a neglected lesson, which exists without its original spirit. Raghib Isfahani wrote in his famous book: "Mufarradat al Qur'an" as follows:

"The meaning of the word Sadaqah in the language of Shariah is to grant or donate with free-will to others". [2]

Meaning of Sadaqah is explained in "Qamus al Fiqahi" as follow:

"Sadaqah is that which is donated to others only to please Allah and to get His nearness". [3]

The word Sadaqah is from the word Sidq, which means truth and sincerity, the truth and sincerity, which are expressed to others with true intention to help a needy deserving class. Any kind of help which you give to others in cash or in any form is an act of Sadaqah. This act demands sincerity, because it is Allah alone who in return removes or lesson the problems which a person faces. Sadaqah is a very wide term and is used in the Qur'an to cover all kinds of charity. Ahadith literature provides us following Talim in this regard:

· "Your smile for your brother is Sadaqah".[4]

· "Enjoining what is right & forbidding what is wrong is Sadaqah" [5]

· Giving a smile or a glass of water to a thirsty person or even a word of kindness and so on. [6]

· Planting something from which a person, bird or animal afterwards takes benefit also counts Sadaqah

· Your removal of stones, thorns or bones from the paths of people is Sadaqah .[7]

· Guiding a person who is lost is also Sadaqah." [8]

· Helping someone to establish himself in professional life, assisting someone acquire good learning; monetary assistance for the treatment of the sick; looking after the orphans and the destitute; giving scholarships to students, all such charitable works, come under Sadaqah-Jariyah- -that is why so many traditions are available which explain the reward of this practice and attracts the community to promote it. "The reward for giving Sadaqah in secret is seventy times superior to that of giving it publicly". [9]

The highest degree of Sadaqah is that which should be given secretly so that the other hand may not know of it. It is however not restricted to pay Sadaqah openly, but according to the Talim of the Qur'an and Sunnah, and guidance of Ahl al Bait and Ash'ab it is preferable that Sadaqah be given secretly, that is superior in practice. According to Abi Abdillah Imam Jafar Assadiq, except `Bani Hashim', Sadaqah could be given to any needy Mumin.

Qur'an describes pious as follows:

"And in their wealth there was the right of the "Sa'el"-needy person and the "Mahrum"-poor who does not approach others". [10]

Good conduct is frequently termed Sadaqah in the Hadith. In this extended sense, acts of loving, kindness, even greeting one another with a cheerful face, is regarded as Sadaqah. In brief, every good deed is Sadaqah. This should start at home, as per Hadith:

"When one of you is poor, he starts with himself. If anything is left, he spends it on his dependents. If anything is (still) left then on his relatives, and then, if more is left, he spends it here and there." [11]

Pray your Prayers on time

He remembered his grandmother's warning about praying on time:

'My son, you shouldn't leave prayer to this late time'.

His grandmother's age was 70 but, whenever she heard the Azhan, she got up like an arrow and performed Salat. He however could never win over his ego to get up and pray. Whatever he did, his Salat was always the last to be offered and he prayed it quickly to get it in on time.

Thinking of this, he got up and realized that there were only 15 minutes left before Salat-ul Isha. He quickly made Wudhu and performed Salat-ul Maghrib. While making Tasbih, he again remembered his grandmother and was embarrassed by how he had prayed.

His grandmother prayed with such tranquillity and peace.

He began making Doa and went down to make Sajdah and stayed like that for a while. He had been at work all day and was tired, very tired. He awoke abruptly to the sound of noise and shouting.

He was sweating profusely. He looked around. It was very crowded. Every direction he looked in was filled with people.

Some stood frozen looking around, some were running left and right and some were on their knees with their heads in their hands just waiting.

Pure fear and apprehension filled him as he realized where he was. His heart was about to burst.

It was the Day of Judgment.

When he was alive, he had heard many things about the questioning on the Day of Judgment, but that seemed so long ago. Could this be something his mind made up? No, the wait and the fear were so great that he could not have imagined this.

The interrogation was still going on.

He began moving frantically from people to people to ask if his name had been called. No one could answer him. All of a sudden his name was called and the crowd split into two and made a passageway for him.

Two angels grabbed his arms and led him forward. He walked with unknowing eyes through the crowd. The angels brought him to the center and left him there.

His head was bent down and his whole life was passing in front of his eyes like a movie. He opened his eyes but saw only another world. The people were all helping others. He saw his father running from one lecture to the other, spending his wealth in the way of Islam. His mother invited guests to their house and one table was being set while the other was being cleared.

He pleaded his case, 'I too was always on this path. I helped others. I spread the word of Allah. I performed my Salat. I fasted in the month of Ramadhan.'

'Whatever Allah ordered us to do, I did.'

'Whatever he ordered us not to do, I did not.'

He began to cry and think about how much he loved Allah. He knew that whatever he had done in life would be less than what Allah deserved and his only protector was Allah He was sweating like never before and was shaking all over. His eyes were fixed on the scale, waiting for the final decision. At last, the decision was made.

The two angels with sheets of paper in their hands, turned to the crowd.

His legs felt like they were going to collapse. He closed his eyes as they began
To read the names of those people who were to enter Jahannam.

His name was read first.

He fell on his knees and yelled that this couldn't be, 'How could I go to Jahannam? I served others all my life, I spread the word of Allah to others.'
His eyes had become blurry and he was shaking with sweat.

The two angels took him by the arms.

As his feet dragged, they went through the crowd and advanced toward the blazing flames of Jahannam. He was yelling and wondered if there was any person who was going to help him. He was yelling of all the good deeds he had done, how he had helped his father, his fasts, prayers, the Noble Qur'an that he read, he was asking if none of them would help him.

The Jahannam angels continued to drag him.

They had gotten closer to the Hellfire.

He looked back and these were his last pleas. Had not Rasulullah [SAW] said, 'How clean would a person be who bathes in a river five times a day, so too does the Salah performed five times cleanse someone of their sins?'

He began yelling, 'My prayers? My prayers? My prayers?'

The two angels did not stop, and they came to the edge of the abyss of Jahannam.

The flames of the fire were burning his face.

He looked back one last time, but his eyes were dry of hope and he had nothing left in him. One of the angels pushed him in.

He found himself in the air and falling towards the flames.

He had just fallen five or six feet when a hand grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back.

He lifted his head and saw an old man with a long white beard.

He wiped some dust off himself and asked him, 'Who are you?'

The old man replied, 'I am your prayers.'

'Why are you so late?! I was almost in the Fire! You rescued me at the last minute before I fell in.'

The old man smiled and shook his head, 'You always performed me at the last minute, did you forget?'

At that instant, he blinked and lifted his head from Sajdah. He was in a sweat. He listened to the voices coming from outside.

He heard the Adhan for Salat-ul Isha.

He got up quickly and went to perform Wudhu.

Maybe, you can help someone open their eyes.

And who knows?

Maybe, this is a good deed that can help you during The Day of Judgment. (INSHA-ALLAH)

Have Faith In Allah

The only survivor of a ship wreck was washed up

on a small, un-inhabited island. He prayed feverishly

for Allah to save him, & every day he scanned
the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut

out of driftwood of ship to protect him from the elements,

& to store his few possessions.

But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived

home & find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up

to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost.

He was stunned with grief & anger. "ohhh……… allah, how

Could you do this to me……!" he cried a lot whole night &

with shivering went to sleep below the open sky.

Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the

sound of a ship that was approaching the island.

It had come to rescue him.

"How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man

of his rescuers.
"We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

Moral of the story :
It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad.

But we shouldn't lose heart, because Allah is at work in

our lives, even in the midst of pain & suffering…………

Remember, next time when your little hut is burning

to the ground----it just may be a smoke signal…..,

that summons the grace of Allah…...

The most important thing in any prayer is not –

what we say to Allah….....,but what Allah replies to us.

We are about to pray & then hurry up to go away..

Without giving Allah, chance to answer our queries…….

So don’t loose Hope.....Have Faith in Allah.....

& Be Positive always, Just try & work hard,

you will definitely succeed in making……

Two Rivers

Above shown Photos are of the two rivers flowing in southern part near Cape Town , South Africa.

These rivers flow together and there nature came to know in the starting of 20th century where as ALLAH (SWT)mentioned the nature of these two rivers in Holy Quran around 1400years Back.

These two river flow together and finally settle down in the Ocean,taste of one river is extremely sweet whereas the taste of another river is extremely opposite (that is bitter) but they never mix.There is nothing in between these rivers which stops them from mixing together but its is the will & order of ALLAH (SWT)

MAKKAH'S WATER OF BENISON - ZamZam

In 1971, an Egyptian doctor wrote to the European Press, a letter
saying that aab-i-Zumzum was not fit for drinking purposes. I
immediately thought that this was just a form of prejudice against
the Muslims and that since his statement was based on the
assumption, that since the Khaan-i-Ka'aba was a shallow place (below
sea level) and located in the centre of the city of Makkah, all the
waste water of the city collecting through the drains fell into well
holding the water.

Fortunately, the news came to Shah Faisal's ears who got extremely
angry and decided to disprove the Egyptian doctor's provocative
statement. He immediately ordered the Ministry of Agriculture and
Water Resources to investigate and send samples of aab-i-Zumzum to
European laboratories for testing the pot-ability of the water. The
ministry then instructed the Jeddah Power and Desalination Plants to
carry out this task. It was here that I was employed as a de-salting
engineer (chemical engineer to produce drinking water from sea
water). I was chosen to carry out this assignment.

At this stage, I remember that I had no idea what the well holding
the water looked like.

I went to Makkah and reported to the authorities at the Khaan-i-
Ka'aba explaining my purpose of visit. They deputed a man to give me
whatever help was required. When we reached the well, it was hard
for me to believe that a pool of water, more like a small pond,
about 18 by 14 feet, was the well that supplied millions of gallons
of water every year to hajjis ever since it came into existence at
the time of Hazrat Ibrahim, many, many centuries ago. I started my
investigations and took the dimensions of the well. I asked the man
to show me the depth of the well.

First he took a shower and descended into the water. Then he
straightened his body. I saw that the water level came up to just
above his shoulders. His height was around five feet, eight
inches.He then started moving from one corner to the other in the
well (standing all the while since he was not allowed to dip his
head into the water) in search of any inlet or pipeline inside the
well to see from where the water came in. However, the man reported
that he could not find any inlet or pipeline inside the well.

I thought of another idea. The water could be withdrawn rapidly with
the help of a big transfer pump which was installed at the well for
the aab-i-Zumzum storage tanks. In this way, the water level would
drop enabling us to locate the point of entry of the water.
Surprisingly, nothing was observed during the pumping period, but I
knew that this was the only method by which you could find the
entrance of the water to the well. So I decided to repeat the
process. But this time I instructed the man to stand still at one
place and carefully observe any unusual thing happening inside the
well.

After a while, he suddenly raised his hands and
shouted,"Alhamdolli llah! I have found it. The sand is dancing
beneath my feet as the water oozes out of the bed of the well." Then
he moved around the well during the pumping period and noticed the
same phenomenon everywhere in the well.

Actually the flow of water into the well through the bed was equal
at every point, thus keeping the level of the water steady.

After I finished my observations I took the samples of the water for
European laboratories to test. Before I left the Khaan-i-Ka'aba, I
asked the authorities about the other wells around Makkah. I was
told that these wells were mostly dry. When I reached my office in
Jeddah I reported my findings to my boss who listened with great
interest but made a very irrational comment that the Zumzum well
could be internally connected to the Red Sea.How was it possible
when Makkah is about 75 kilometres away from the sea and the wells
located before the city usually remain dry? The results of the water
samples tested by the European laboratories and the one we analysed
in our own laboratory were found to be almost identical.

The difference between aab-i-Zumzum and other water (city water) was
in the quantity of calcium and magnesium salts. The content of these
was slightly higher in aab-i-Zumzum. This may be why this water
refreshes tired hajjis, but more significantly, the water contains
fluorides that have an effective germicidal action. Moreover, the
remarks of the European laboratories showed that the water was fit
for drinking. Hence the statement made by the Egyptian doctor was
proved false.

When this was reported to Shah Faisal he was extremely pleased and
ordered the contradiction of the report in the European Press. In a
way, it was a blessing that this study was undertaken to show the
chemical composition of the water. In fact, the more you explore,
the more wonders surface and you find yourself believing implicitly
in the miracles of this water that God bestowed as a gift on the
faithfuls coming from far and wide to the desert land for pilgrimage.

Let me sum up some of the features of aab-i-Zumzum.

* This well has never dried up. On the contrary it has always
fulfilled the demand for water.

* It has always maintained the same salt composition and taste ever
since it came into existence.

* Its potability has always been universally recognised as pilgrims
from all over the world visit Khaan-i-Ka'aba every year for hajj and
umrah, but have never complained about it. Instead, they have always
enjoyed the water that refreshes them.

* Water tastes different at different places.

* Aab-i-Zumzum' s appeal has always been universal.

* This water has never been chemically treated or chlorinated as is
the case with water pumped into the cities.

* Biological growth and vegetation usually takes place in most
wells. This makes the water unpalatable owing to the growth of algae
causing taste and odour problems. But in the case of the aab-i-
Zumzum well there wasn't any sign of biological growth.

* Centuries ago, Bibi Hajra searched desperately for water in the
hills of Sufwa and Murwa to give to her newly-born son Hazrat
Ismail. As she ran from one place to another in search of water, her
child rubbed his feet against the sand. A pool of water surfaced,

THE SIX PUNISHMENTS OF LIFE:

1. Allah takes away blessings from his age (makes his life misfortunate)
2.Allah does not accept his plea (Dua's) 3.Allah erases the features of
good people from his face.
4.He will be detested by all creatures on earth.
5.Allah does not award him for his good deeds. (No shawab) 6.He will not
be included in the Dua's of good people.

THE THREE PUNISHMENTS WHILE DYING:
1. He dies humiliated.
2. He dies hungry.
3. He dies thirsty. Even if he drinks the water of all seas he will
still be thirsty.

THE THREE PUNISHMENTS IN THE GRAVE:

1. Allah tightens his grave until his chest ribs come over each other.
2. Allah pours on him fire with embers.
3. Allah sets on him a snake called "the brave", "the bold"
which hits Him from morning until afternoon for leaving Fajr prayer,
from the afternoon until Asr for leaving Dhuhr prayer and so on. With
each strike he sinks 70 yards under the ground.

THE THREE PUNISHMENTS ON THE DAY OF JUDGMENT:
1. Allah sends who would accompany him to hell pulling him on the face.
2. Allah gives him an angry look that makes the flesh of his face fall
down.
3. Allah judges him strictly and orders him to be thrown in hell.

At once, the man began to shiver,
As one sweating in deadly fever,

He shouted to his sleeping wife,
Don't let him take away my life.

Please go away, O Angel of Death!
Leave me alone; I'm not ready yet.

My family on me depends,
Give me a chance, O please prepense!

The angel knocked again and again,
Friend! I'll take your life without a pain,

Tis your soul Allah requires,
I come not with my own desire.

Bewildered, the man began to cry,
O Angel I'm so afraid to die,

I'll give you gold and be your slave,
Don't send me to the unlit grave.

Let me in, O Friend! The Angel said,
Open the door; get up from your bed,

If you do not allow me in,
I will walk through it, like a Jinn.

The man held a gun in his right hand,
Ready to defy the Angel's stand.

I'll point my gun, towards your head,
You dare come in; I'll shoot you dead.

By now the Angel was in the room,
Saying, O Friend! Prepare for you doom.

Foolish man, Angels never die,
Put down your gun and do not sigh.

Why are you afraid! Tell me O man,
To die according to Allah's plan?

Come smile at me, do not be grim,
Be Happy to return to Him.

O Angel! I bow my head in shame,
I had no time to take Allah's Name.

From morning till dusk, I made my wealth, Not even caring for my health.

Allah's command I never obeyed,
Nor five times a day I ever prayed.

A Ramadan came and a Ramadan went,
But no time had I to repent.

The Hajj was already FARD on me,
But I would not part with my money.

All charities I did ignore,
Taking usury more and more.

O Angel! I appeal to you,
Spare my life for a year or two.
The Laws of Quran I will obey,
I'll begin SALAT this very day.
My Fast and Hajj, I will complete,
And keep away from self-conceit.
I will refrain from usury,
And give all my wealth to charity,
Wine and wenches I will detest,
Allah's oneness I will attest.
We Angels do what Allah demands,
We cannot go against His commands.

Death is ordained for everyone,
Father, mother, daughter or son.

I'm afraid this moment is your last,
Now be reminded, of your past,

I do understand your fears,
But it is now too late for tears.

You lived in this world, two score and more, Never did you, your people
adore.

Your parents, you did not obey,
Hungry beggars, you turned away.

Your two ill-gotten, female offspring,
In nightclubs, for livelihood they sing.

Instead of making more Muslims,
You made your children non-Muslims.

You ignored the Mua'dhin Adhaan,
Nor did you read the Holy Quran.

Breaking promises all your life,
Backbiting friends, and causing strife.

From hoarded goods, great profits you made, And your poor workers, you
underpaid.

Horses and cards were your leisure,
Moneymaking was your pleasure.
You ate vitamins and grew more fat,
With the very sick, you never sat.
A pint of blood you never gave,
Which could a little baby save?
O Human, you have done enough wrong,
You bought good properties for a song.

When the farmers appealed to you,
You did not have mercy, tis true.

Paradise for you? I cannot tell,
Undoubtedly you will dwell in hell.

There is no time for you to repent,
I'll take your soul for which I am sent.

The ending however, is very sad,
Eventually the man became mad

With a cry, he jumped out of bed,
And suddenly, he fell down dead.

O Reader! Take moral from here,
You never know, your end may be near

Change your living and make amends
For heaven, on your deeds depends.

It is said that when the angel of death is taking the rooh (soul) out of the body whom passes away...it is a painful experience.
They say that when the dead awake on Qayaamat, the effect of the rooh being taken out will still be there.
Therefore, ALLAH have told us to recite the Ayatul Kursi after any Farz salaat and they have stated that whoever recites this, their rooh will be taken out as you would take out a strand of hair from a pile of flour.
How light would that feel, mashaAllah!
May Allah save us from any sort of pain and may He let us die with Imaan in our hearts and save us from the azaab.

There is :
No word as beautiful as Allah.
No example as beautiful as Rasulallah .

The Call Of Allah

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

Asalaam Alaikum!

Among the marvels of modern technology is also the ability to track the missed calls which were made by our friends and foes and the likes. We do not get a good night's sleep, unless we have returned the calls of those who matter. We don't let any call / miss call go unanswered as long as we know that it matters. Don't we?

But how about the calls of "hay-yaa al-as-salaah and hay-yaa al-al falah" made from the neighborhood house of our master, the Almighty Allah.? Those calls are made five times a day and many a times they all go unanswered.

We do not either respond!!! Nor do we respect these missed calls. Do they matter?

Everybody can tell, if these really matter. Maybe not today nor tomorrow, but surely in the hereafter. Let us look at ourselves. Can we afford to let these calls of the muezzin be missed, day after day, after day. The call from our cherisher, sustainer and the ultimate master. Just think about it. Next time one hears this call, just ask yourself how good a night's sleep can I have by missing those calls from the house of Allah.

Think about it....the answer may come from the inner heart.

Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)says: "The one who guides to good will be rewarded equally".

Amazing as it sounds, but fortunately for the Muslims of the world, It is an established fact. Have a look at a map of the world and you will find Indonesia on the eastern side of the earth. The major cities of Indonesia are Java, Sumatra, Borneo and Saibil. As soon as dawn breaks on the eastern side of Saibil, at approximately 5:30 am local time,Fajar Azaan begins. Thousands of Muazzins in Indonesia begin reciting the Azaan.The process advances towards West Indonesia . One and a half hours after the Azaan has been completed in Saibil, it echoes in Jakarta. Sumatra then follows suit and before this auspicious process of calling Azaan ends in Indonesia , it has already begun in Malaysia.Burma is next in line, and within an hour of its beginning in Jakarta, it reaches Dacca, the capital city of Bangladesh. After Bangladesh, it has already prevailed in western India , from Calcutta to Srinagar. It then advances towards Bombay and the environment of entire India resounds with this proclamation. Srinagar and Sialkot (a city in northPakistan) have the same timing for Azaan. The time difference between Sialkot, Quetta, and Karachi is forty minutes, and within this time,Fajar Azaan is heard throughout Pakistan . Before it ends there, it has already begun in Afghanistan and Muscat. The time difference between Muscat and Baghdad is one hour. Azaan resounds during this one hour in the environments of Hijaaz-e-Muqaddas (Holy cities of Makkah andMadinah), Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Iraq . The time difference between Baghdad and Alexandria in Egypt is again one hour. Azaan continues to resound in Syria , Egypt, Somalia and Sudan during this hour. The time difference between eastern and western Turkey is one and a half hours, and during this time it is echoed with the call to prayer.Alexandria and Tripoli (capital of Libya) are located at one hour's difference. The process of calling Azaan thus continues throughout the whole of Africa. Therefore, the proclamation of the Tawheed and Risaalat that had begun in Indonesia reaches the Eastern Shore of the Atlantic Ocean after nine and half hours.Prior to the Azaan reaching the shores of The Atlantic, the process of Zohar Azaan has already started in east Indonesia , and before it reaches Dacca, Asar Azaan has started. This has hardly reached Jakarta one and half hours later, the time of Maghrib becomes due, and no sooner has Maghrib time reached Sumatra , the time for calling Isha Azaan has commenced in Saibil! When the Muazzins of Indonesia are calling out Fajar Azaan, theAfrican Muazzins are calling the Azaan for Isha. If we were to ponder over this phenomenon thoughtfully, we would conclude the amazing fact that there is not even a single moment when hundreds of thousands of Muazzins around the world are not reciting the Azaan on the surface of this earth. Even as you read this material right now, you can be sure there are at least thousands of people who are hearing and reciting the Azaan!!!

Hand Shake / Salam: Its significance

Rasulallah (SAW) said, "There are no two Muslims who meet and shake each other's hand, except that their sins are forgiven before they part."

Every atom in man's body is in reality radiant, living and powerful compared with other objects, herbs, or drugs. By the very fact of being a living body it has a great power. Therefore, shaking hands and touching (as in doing salam) have certain beneficial efforts.

The scientists of today are giving electric and heat treatment as a comparatively new discovery, and it is claimed that it is very beneficial for many remedies. Body heat and electric impulse generated by our body causes increase in blood circulation and decreases congestion. Circulation gives health, while congestion causes diseases. Our body's heat is projected through the finer parts of the body, namely the palm of the hands, tips of fingers and nose and lips and the eyes. The eyes also emit certain very low-grade electric impulse.

The custom of salam is not only for respect but it helps exchange of heat and electric impulse between two persons. That is always from the elders to youngsters or from the powerful to weaker. This way courage and consolation is given to the weaker and in the same way, as the caress of a mother heals the child of all its pains and soothes it in stress.

Psychologists today say when two people shake hands with one another magnetism is exchanged between them and a balance of life force is made between them. The one who lacks strength, energy, or magnetic power gains, and through the one from who they overflow they are used for a better purpose. Exchange of body heat between two persons improves understanding, friendship and love.

This is why Islam tells us to shake hands with our fellow Muslims and urges children to do salam to their parents and elders, every day in the morning.

He added that pronouncing the velar consonant (L) in the Arabic way, with the tongue touching slightly the upper part of the jaw producing a short pause and then repeating the same pause constantly, relaxes the aspiration. Also, pronouncing the last letter which is the letter (H) makes a contact between the lungs and the heart and in turn this contact controls the heartbeat.

What is exciting in the study is that this psychologist is a non-Muslim, but interested in Islamic sciences and searching for the secrets of the Holy Quran.

Mercy of Allah

A man woke up early in order to pray the prayer in the Masjid.
He got dressed, made his ablution and was on his way to the Masjid.
On his way to the Masjid, the man fell and his clothes got dirty.
He got up, brushed himself off, and headed home. At home, he changed his clothes, made his ablution, and was, again, on his way to the Masjid.
2nd time, On his way to the Masjid, he fell again and at the same spot!
He, again, got up, brushed himself off and headed home.
At home he, once again, changed his clothes, made his ablution and was on his way to the Masjid.
On his way 3rd time to the Masjid, he met a man holding a lamp.
He asked the man of his identity and the man replied I saw you fall twice on your way to the Masjid, so I brought a lamp so I can light your way.
The first man thanked him profusely and the two went on their way to the Masjid.Once at the Masjid, the first man asked the man with the lamp to come in and pray with him.
The second man refused. The first man asked him a couple more times and, again, the answer was the same.
The first man asked him why he did not wish to come in and pray.
The man replied I am Satan.The man was shocked at this reply.
Satan went on to explain, I saw you on your way to the Masjid and it was I who made you fall. When you went home, cleaned yourself and went back on your way to the Masjid, Allah forgave all of your sins. I made you fall a second time, and even that did not encourage you to stay home, but rather, you went back on your way to the Masjid.
Because of that, Allah forgave all the sins of the people of your household.
I was afraid if I made you fall one more time, then Allah will forgive the sins of the people of your village, so I made sure that you reached the Masjid safely.
So do not let Satan benefit from his actions.Do not put off a good that you intended to do as you never know how much reward you might receive from the hardships you encounter while trying to achieve that good.

The Shipwreck

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island ....
He prayed for Allah to rescue him,and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.
Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements and to store his few possessions.
But then one day, after scavenging for food,he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky.
The worst had happened;everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger."Allah, how could you do this to me!" he cried.
